Today not me rambling along on mind mapping. I have a video clip I want to share from you.

This presentation given by Tom Wujec at TED. He shows why visual thinking (and mind mapping) work so well in problem solving and collaboration.

I especially like the thought right in the beginning (0:41 and further along). This shows us that we have something extremely powerful at our disposal.

Enjoy!

I received a question from a visitor who is part of our mindmap community. He told me that mindmaps without images are in fact more spider maps. That is true. The mindmap is a very visual overview of the information, filled with color and images.

Now how to find images for those words that are not easily transformed into an image (for instance love, smell, good)?

Let’s have a look at  three different techniques I use to find the right images.

Your mindmap can be a wonderful tool to actually SEE what you do and have and who you are. I would suggest you create a mindmap that shows you… well… YOU!

… you could copy the mind and knowledge of one person into another persons body.

There are many movies dealing with this topic. Today, I would like to give you the mindmap method for doing this. That’s right, you will be able to copy one person into another person.

Hopefully you applied the information from the previous article and you now know much better where you are going and what you can do in life.

This article will expand on that, making it easier to share information in a group. Today we have a look at clear information transfer between you and other.

One of the most heard remarks on mind mapping I get in groups is that it is very difficult to understand exactly what another person means with a map. People create a map based on their thoughts, insights and feelings. Then they share this map… and nobody understands exactly what you mean.

Yesterday I had a training day with a group of people who wanted to learn more on how to manage their information. It as a very interesting day.

During the mind mapping part of the day, I told the group that mind mapping is a wonderful tool to take your ‘normal’ or linear information and create a different perspective on that information. When you take your normal notes and transform these into a mindmap, you see things differently.

One reason is that your use a visual and brain friendly approach.
Another reason is that all your information is presented on only one sheet of paper.

‘Cor’, a participant, called one of the ways you can do this a Mindmap Calzone. That’s why you will learn today what the Mindmap Calzone is.
