In the third success key, we talked about the importance of taking action. By taking action on what you learned and what you want, you are moving ahead of most of the people who only dream, think and talk.
In order to become really successful, you have to understand the following: We are all interconnected. You will accelerate your growth and success the moment you consciously make the interconnection principle work for you.
I believe this is something you should already see in your mindmaps.
Just take a mindmap (any mindmap) you created. All the information in that map is interconnected. Even the words at the top right side of the map are connected to the bottom left words. Together they create an overview that you can use (to move forward).
The same applies to other areas in your life. We all need to work together. When we do that, we can go beyond our own abilities and grow. I believe this is the same as having synergy in a group of likeminded people.
QUESTION: What happens when you take advantage of other people? When you manipulate them into buying or doing something for you?
That’s right, you do something negative. It is most likely that you can expect something negative coming back towards you.
QUESTION: What do you think happens when you assist other people? Assist them in helping them reach their goals?
This is the other way around. You help people and it is more likely that they will help you as well.
That is why the second success key for me is:
Success key #2: Help others achieve their dreams and you work on achieving yours
It is kind of like the things I do. I assist people in becoming more profound visual thinkers. Hopefully I inspire you (or at least make you think) about the way you USE mindmaps.
I created this website because I saw that many people only create mindmaps, They are not moving forward using mindmaps. These people use tools which should bring them more balance and overview in their lives… but they don’t work for these people yet.
In fact… many people who buy a mindmap tool are people who should not buy a mindmap tool. They believe that they buy some sort of miracle tool and that this tool will help them.
The only thing the tool will do is assist you (if you use it properly). Even that is something most people won’t experience. They just create mindmaps and that’s it. They assist their mindmap tool (sad to write, even more sad to see).
When people buy a mindmap tool via my website, I make sure that they understand that I am there to assist them. Taking action on that offer (rule #3) decreases the chance of them only buying a software tool and increases the probability of buying an assistant for life.
My mission in life is to create balance in the lives of as many people as possible. From this (mental) balance it is much easier to grow and develop oneself. By being more balanced, people become more tolerant towards other races and views, making the world a better place (no, we won’t create a world wide Disney Land
).
So you see, by helping people to create better overviews and by assisting them in becoming more visual thinkers I am working on my goals as well.
For me, Success key #2 is very important. You give and receive. You don’t give and take! Taking involves power to get something. Receiving doesn’t (although it may be difficult for people to accept).
For you today, start assisting others. By doing that, you will see that you improve your chances of accomplishing more.
How we can use this in our visualmaps/mindmaps
Next time when you are explain something to a person, when you help them understand something or when you are working on a project together, create a mindmap.
You use your mind mapping skills to create clarity in the life of that person. Even without them offering feedback on what you said/create you will grow. You become a better listener and more complete mindmapper.
