Will You Leave The Safe And Familiar Pond?
Today I returned home riding my bike. On my way, I passed a pond. I watched the birds in this pond often. Since it is spring time, there are many birds nesting and raising their children.
This particular pond I passed is not that pretty. Actually, because of the houses they are building near by, the pond is quite dirty. The water at some places even has a coating of oil and waste. Not a good environment to raise your children (just my thought).
The amazing thing is that there are 2 couples in the pond, a couple of ducks and a couple of swans. I feel especially bad for the swans. Their nice white necks go deep into the water to find food. Even though their swim in dirty water, they remain to be white!
Here’s what I don’t understand.
Just two hundred meters east of the pond, there is beautiful fresh water, meadows with lots of fresh grass and many opportunities to build a good nest.
I often think about this and don’t understand why these birds (who can thousands of kilometres to my country) end up in this really awful pond. Surely they would have been aware of the other area when high up in the sky…
What Kind Of Swan Are You?
Let’s make this a little bit more personal. Suppose you are a swan. Where would you like to find food? Where do you want to raise your children?
I hope that you, just like me, would choose for the nice pond with good water and fresh grass.
Ok, you are no longer a swan (sorry). You are yourself again. You use a technique called mind mapping to create visual overviews of your information.
You’ve seen people succeed by using mindmaps. You know there are many interesting possibilities in using it. Would you continue pottering along with the things you do in mind mapping?
I hope you start to listen to people who can take you mind mapping skills and who guide you to the next level in visual mapping. This would manifest in you:
- creating better mindmaps,
- making better use of the maps in your life
- transforming ordinary data into meaningful knowledge
- saving time, effort and resources and reaching your goals faster
And above all… you would be able to remain clean
How about that? Would you be willing to move into that direction?
Are you able to step outside your comfort zone and move into a better pond (for you and your information)?
Are you still flexible enough to change your current habits?
I understand that changing current habits is not easy (sometimes it is just plain painful…). However, by using a professional visual mapping mentor (like myself), you will prevent yourself from stepping into all the pitfalls around you. You will move in a straight line towards the new pond with the least amount of problems.
Next week I start a new series of online training courses. The first one has to do with getting more focus in your life. Of course, we use mindmaps and other visual maps for this. Together we make sure that you learn how to UNLEASH your MINDMAPS.
Keep reading to learn more about this new training opportunity. I am sure you will benefit. Not just in creating mindmaps (who wants to create them anyways…). You will benefit from the training because you will learn how to use the maps and improve your life (and I mean that!).
So next week, we continue!
(and I have to prepare for the new training
)
